81 years have passed since Allama Iqbal, the poet of the East, passed away

today marks the 81st anniversary of Allama Muhammad Iqbal, the poet who awakened the human soul, the legislator who scrutinized the rules and regulations, and the Pakistani thinker who dreamed of a free country for Muslims.

Allama Muhammad Iqbal was born on November 9, 1877, in Sialkot and received his early education there.

He matriculated from Mission High School and passed the FA examination from Murray College, Sialkot.

Allama Muhammad Iqbal had the privilege of being a student of a teacher like Syed Mir Hassan in his childhood.

The style is not very flashy though

He graduated from Cambridge University in England and later did a PhD in philosophy from Germany.

Allama Iqbal was a lawyer by profession but his fame was due to his timeless poetry which is still read today.

He had such a grip on Urdu to Persian and English that his words directly affect the heart.

His main tendency in poetry was towards Sufism and revival of the Islamic Ummah, which is why he dreamed of a free country for the Muslims of the subcontinent.

He showed people the way out of darkness through poetry in Persian and Urdu languages. Iqbal's collection Kalam Bal Jibril, Bang Dara, Kaliyat Iqbal, Masjid Cordoba, Zauq and Shoq are still popular.

Allama Iqbal also wrote poems for children, including a mountain and a squirrel, a jagnu and a child's prayer.

Allama Iqbal was against human exploitation and wanted human beings to treat each other well without any distinction of color, race or religion.

Allama Iqbal continued his efforts to create awareness and sense of responsibility in Muslims of all ages, which is why he is called the poet of the East.

Through his poetry, Allama Muhammad Iqbal instilled in the Muslims of the subcontinent a sense of self-worth and the importance of a separate country, which is why Iqbal's breathed revolutionary spirit is still a beacon for Muslims today.
